West London made the long journey to Harrow to play their B team in the Hillingdon League. Harrow B are not an especially strong team but grading is not everything.
I didn’t see Andreea’s game but she won quite quickly. I had a rather flashy win in the Cochrane Gambit. Colum was black in a pseudo Grand Prix Sicilian by transposition, and gave up a pawn for some play that ultimately did not prove sufficient, and then fell into a lethal pin. Gursh had an excellent win in his match, getting pressure and then winning a piece. Russ scored a draw against an opponent who played well and looked better than his rating.
