On Tuesday 5th November West London ventured to Hatch End, the most distant location in the Hillingdon League. The games were well fought, with Andreea finishing first after overpowering her opponent in a Queens Gambit Declined.
I managed to mess up a winning game and only drew (and was lucky to do that at the end).
Antanas lost in an Evans Gambit, a surprising result given his terrific record for us against very strong opposition.
Elmira has a very nice win, concluding with a fine tactical finish.
Russ had a passed a pawn and better pawn structure in a rook and pawn ending, and smoothly avoided a couple of cheapo traps to win very well.
The scorecard is below.
